When you first call into the application, you will hear the Main Menu, and will have the following options:

  1. Track buses
  2. Track trains
  3. Find out about other services offered by Philmore Productions
  4. Leave feedback


1. Track Buses



At the Bus Tracking menu, you can either press 1 if you want to enter a stop code, or 2 to search for a stop. Stop codes are found at the bottom of CTA bus stop signs. To search for a stop with option 2, you need to enter the two streets that make up the intersection where the stop is located. To enter each street, you can enter up to four letters to spell the beginning of the street name. For each letter, you should just press the key on which that letter appears once. After entering up to 4 letters for the street name, press the pound key. For example, to search for Michigan & Chestnut:



The system will then read the stops at that intersection. You should then press the number of the stop you want, and press the pound key. Be sure to select the stop that has the bus going in the direction you need.

Once you select a stop, the application will tell you the stop code number of the stop you selected.

The application will then begin reading the arrival times for the buses, starting with the one which will arrive the earliest. You will hear the vehicle number, route number, destination, and arrival time for each bus.

2. Track Trains



At the Train Tracking menu, you can either press 1 if you want to enter a stop code, or 2 to search for a stop. To search for a stop with option 2, you need to enter the name of the stop as it is posted on the platform. To enter the stop name, you can enter up to four letters to spell the beginning of the name. For each letter, you should just press the key on which that letter appears once. After entering up to 4 letters for the street name, press the pound key. For example, to search for Chicago Avenue:



The system will then read the stops that start with the letters you entered. You should then press the number of the stop you want, and press the pound key. Be sure to select the stop that has the train going in the direction you need.

Once you select a stop, the application will tell you the stop code number of the stop you selected.

The application will then begin reading the arrival times for the trains, starting with the one which will arrive the earliest. You will hear the vehicle number, route name, destination, direction, and arrival time for each train.
